Dr. Cynthia Clarke is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and educator. She provides psychological skills training in sports psychology, which is also known as mental skills training or mental coaching. On top of this, she is a personal life coach and consultant working with athletes, performing artists, creative artists, corporate leaders, high-stakes professionals, and sports teams (including AD’s and coaches). Her training programs empower a person to remove hindering barriers in order to consistently perform and achieve mastery in performance.
Psychological Skills Training involves the integration of the mental aspect of sports or performance to physical skills, talents, or strategies. The use of mental skills training is what separates good athletes and performers from the experts and masters of the skills in their fields.
Why is that? As both amateurs and experts will tell you, performance excellence and mastery in sports and related disciplines are largely mental. Even naturally talented athletes, artists, performers, or business leaders can reach a point when their performance peaks, and they can’t seem to surpass prior goals. In every sport or performance, one’s “mental fitness” is as important as the physical effort in achieving goals. Applied mental strategies and mental tools allow one to enhance mental fitness for all levels of sports and performance.
